Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions everyone - I think the software side of my setup is just about sorted. Charles, it was your observation that fixed the main problem in the end. I also got rid of the irritating 'underscore' (cursor).

The problem that I am having now is to do with the hardware side of things. When I'm in one room of the house and I flash the magnet past the hall sensor, I get nice clean readings, however, when I'm in the garage, the RPM reading is all over the place all of the time. I'm guessing this is to do with interference.
