I already peeked into the sources and now I firmly believe in Frieder's solutions (of course I also tried and I read the resulting asm/rst files regularly already... :-) )

Again, I know this MUST be a hack, just I expected something is already pre-cooked - I assumed I am not the only one (and, indeed, Erik already confessed of having a similar problem, although he solved it in a different way).

Btw., it would be interesting to know how can this be solved (hacked around) in the commercial C-compilers (in other than Erik's way of having purely asm-defined XDATA variables) - any insider from Keil, Raisonance, Wickenhauser, dunnowhichelse here?
