In programming/electronics - as well as in business and love - everything is allowed.

I tried (xy)printf and found it quite adequate and convenient for quick'n'dirty debug printouts and similar. Of course, if it would go to a multimillion pieces project, I'd weigh the bits and bytes more carefully :-)
