IIRC, there are only two outputs from the PLD that are of interest to the O/P, yet there are undoubtedly inputs from the rest of the printer, which is no longer present, either to the SPLD or to the MCU. Without information characterizing the behavior of those inputs and any feedback or corresponding ouput generated within this circuit, it's probably still going to be a challenge.
With the aid of datasheets for the driven circuits, however, the O/P might be able to deduce what the desired signals will be and how to drive them in order to get the result he wants. He will want to know what he CAN do with the SPLD. If only two outputs are used, there are still macrocells that may be doing something relevant (and possibly observable) that can either be observed or deduced. Then, reprogramming the SPLD will probably be the only technical challenge remaining in this part of the task. RE |
