Yes, some of your "lessons" bore me to death, however, I am sure that some others have a large interest in the depth to which you analyze that particular issue. Erik , Sometimes when you are replying to a question you feel you could make it clear by giving more info , But this more info would be boring for other members (it happened sometimes to me), But this would make sure that the person who is asking the question will get the answer completely and correctly. e.g. when a new member who didn't tracked our previous discussions asks a question about decoupling , (s)he should be warned of a side effect of paralleling low ESR caps with tantals ,like you said : in most cases you can use 'grab bag', but know when you can not IMHO this would be the responders duty , since (s)he who is replying is doing the hard work , Other members could omit the repititive part.
