The ones I bought are SMD (1206 Package). From several databooks I learned, that HF performance of SMD ferrite beads is the better the smaller the package is. So, I use ferrite beads in 0603 package (reflow soldering). I would recommend you to use 0805 packages. These ones can still be soldered by hand. Choose a soldering temperature of 250°C and use no-clean solder. Solder as fast as possible, but wait until the solder has flown. Try to not directly touch the metalization of ferrite bead by the solder iron. Good luck, Kai |
