#109708 - WHO, in his/her right mind would use pol Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If you use different chips, you must also learn and implement different HW-I2C. E.g. only on Philips devices there are four (or more ?) different HW-I2C implemented.
ONLY re clocking, a transfer of the code from LPC to 668 took 3 minutes. From Philips LPC to SILabs derivatives (forget the deviates) it takes less than 1/2 hour. It cares me, because I use not only a single 8051 derivate and not only 8051. then use what you have there. Also, is your "ease" more important than to make the optimum product? I tested the HW-I2C of the ATMega8 I thought we were discussing the '51, that Atmel has a problem with the AVR has no bearing here. So on the typical polled transfer approach the HW-I2C was no faster than the SW-I2C. WHO, in his/her right mind would use polled with HW IIC. that (no "total execution time grab") is THE advantage of HW IIC Erik |
