#107578 - RS components and Farnell
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Unfortunately, the Indian dealer of Chipcon, ESmart has a very low opinion of Indian manufacturers

I wouldnt blame him, many of the Indian manufactures dont keep their word or provide wrong (false) information as a result even genuine manufacturers / designers will get a bad name.

I would like to get an Indian distrubutor/reseller/importer, so that I can be comfortable with the institution norms:

Well, I havent bought anything from online shops like digikey or mouser, so I am having some doubts.

Are you not aware of RS components (Delhi) and Farnell (Hynetic, Bangalore)? both of them are operating in India, contact them and get their fat catalogues or probaly you could go to their web sites, they are not very much usefull to us manufacturers because of the pricing, but should be okay for student projects.

1. Do they provide a receipt/bill for what we have bought? Generally, after the query, an invoice/proforma will be provided. But receipts are proofs that I have bought the components.

I would like to have the receipts/bills, because I can then claim the expenditure and get it refunded. I can buy them online using my dad's money, but I can get the money refunded if I produce proper bills/receipts.

Oh yes, they do provide receipt / bill and deliver it to you in a neat antistatic package.

Take a look at the Micrel RF ICs. Hynetic of Bangalore support for components is good

They are developing RF modules based on the MICRF007 / 102 pair, they are quoting around Rs.1000/= for demo board, mind you this board is not just the RF module these are supposed to have a microcontroller, relays etc for you to evaluate the Micrel devices, I think the device pair is costing around Rs.250/= in small volumes. I placed an order for this 3 months ago and not received them yet.

Regards,
John.
