#107510 - Norm? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
They were 2 each of 2 different ICs, as per sample form on Ramtron's own website. Any distributor or manufacturer is free to refuse, but norm is that after asking for the sample request in writing, at least a reply is made that request was denied. He even promised to sell some, but never got back.
As a consultant, it is suicidal to design a product with components my customer cannot procure on regular commercial basis. He even ignored requests of quote for purchase from another manufacturer, who did not want samples. Luthra trotted out the story of dishonesty after Ramtron and his own company boss questioned his competence. And I wonder, how from my IC selection, he could decide I had no clue about circuit designing. Finally I got the samples because Ms. E. Carter of Ramtron got upset over his behaviour and arranged them from elsewhere. But the quote neither of us got. |
