#105553 - Thanks for warning, Kai

Take care, the built-in 120R resistors can abnormally heat-up and can make the die die!

Well, as said, I don't mind for a toy to fail. However, the smoke&flame test has been already done - I was running this "chain" already - but that time controlled from a PC (an old 486 laptop) - 3 years ago for several days continuously, and it survived...
A quick calculation - a LED drops cca 2V, so the power loss is cca 3V*3V/120Ω=75mW. The SW was/is made so that max. half of the LEDs is on simultaneously... 300mW per chip, I think it is viable.
They are far from being hot indeed.

By the way, can you make a wmv-file of the blinking?

I tried to make a shot but I am really bad in this modern stuff - it is in mov, that's what my camera spits out. However, the picture is really disappointing and far from the real stuff and the file is rather big (1.7MB) - not really worth downloading.

PS. Steve, I don't know how do you manage this, but for my hobby stuff which I am attempting to do at home - I am unable to do anything more complicated, as I need to delete at least twice as much as I type - my kids are hanging on the keyboard all the time I switch on the computer. So sorry, no music this time - maybe 16 years later :-)
