#105510 - Then be more specific.

I think what he's meaning is this guy has an 8032 and the external chips; why should he go buy something just because
its easier? He -wants- to use that 8032, that outta be enough.

As the OP already said he is new to 51's, so it is a must to let him know about the advanced technology.

I've asked here things and gotten similar answers before and it
is frustrating. I wanted to create a software method to do PWM
and was told to simply buy another derivative that has PWM on it.

Then you must mention your approach. As no one is that sound to know veiled requirements. Steave already said it doesn't require great investment to switch from one 51 varient to another. And it is worth paying for switching with solid reasons. Like having onchip ADCs, DACs, I2C, PWM, CAN, LIN, TCP/IP etc
There is no point going back to the old devices if such an advanced devices are already available in the market with almost the same cost!

That bypasses the problem.

Jeff take it litely, but the fact is, such posts bypasses the OP's problem.

Sometimes the wise can be too wise!

Dear Kalpak, what does that mean?

Let's come to the point.
Dear Michael Konradi, can you tell us how you have connected the memory to the processor?
Also the solid reason for why you are using external memory although there are n number of flash varients.

Jan Waclawek raised a good point. Please explain that too.
