You probably put the mcu into powerdown mode (see description of PCON register). You might do that unintentionally (e.g. your external program memory is faulty or connected in a wrong way).
Besides that, I agree with Erik that nowadays it is probably unnecessary to start with external program memory with '51. Jan Waclawek |
