As you say in your place there are problems with SRAM of amount bigger then 8k.
But I can point you a really simply source of SRAM. A game boys, a nintento playing station or any old Teletext modules in TVSets have a bild a kind of chip of SRAM. As you say you plan use old PC SIMM, why don't you use old chip from demaged apliances. Another source is old VGA Cards or uProcesor Cashe 386 and 486. Refreshing and decoding adress in Dram take all the power of your C51. |
