#140695 - PLM51 Question. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Jan,
We are running our V51RD2 with a 32Kx8 NVRAM chip. We have attempted to set the EXTRAM bit to ensure the MCU can access the external memory. However, our PLM programmer has informed me that manipulation of this register is not necessary as we have defined a "Large" memory model and the compiler/linker should take care of it. Do you or anyone else have any ideas on this? What I have seen after playing some more is that some memory accesses work and some do not. Is it possible that with the EXTRAM bit set to 0 that there is a memory overlap between Expanded RAM and External RAM? Again, a new, unprogrammed chip will run external just fine. Bryan |
