#140672 - OK, then don't switch on the /2 flag!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
You have switched on the /2 (6-clk) flag when programming the 'V51RD2 (in FM v3.something, "Prog Clocks Bit" tickbox). The timing of the external bus shrinked exactly to half. That's why your external memory mapped IO stopped working.

You can either use a crystal/oscillator with exactly half the frequency of the original, or don't switch that flag on.

PS. Erik: OK so it IS timing-related, but the timing is unrelated to internal/external execution.
