#140631 - 89V51 Code running from FLASH vs EPROM |
Hello,
We are in the process of removing a 80C32 device and moving to the 89V51RD2 device. We have been successful in getting the flash bootloader updated and have successfully programmed our application code into FLASH. The strange thing is that our application will not run from FLASH as it did from EPROM. I have tried the following: 1. I installed the new 89V51RD2 and left the EA# pin tied low. The part runs fine with firmware in EPROM. 2. I then tied EA# to VCC. Using FlashMagic, I was able to run the bootloader update utility and ultimately program the device with our application. Parts of the application run but others do not. This is totally weird. We have tried a number of different variations of the application, but it still does not work. I used the identical HEX file as was used to program the EPROM to ensure the code was the same. If anyone has an idea of why this is happening, please let me know.
