#120542 - speed detect Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have read over the USB spec and as I under stand the detect is a resistor connected to either the D+ or D- and ground. And I believe the detect for 2.0 was a little different that 1.1. Just from memory. Pull up D+ to USB VBUS for full speed attach, and pull up D- for low speed attach. For high speed, you pull up D+ like high speed, and the host does a "chirp" that's detected by high-speed devices but ignored by full-speed devices. Anyways, you didn't specify what you bought. There are actually two types of these USB-to-PS/2 adapters: in one case, you have a USB device you wish to connect to a PS/2 port, and in the other case, you have a PS/2 device you wish to connect to a USB port. It sounds like you've got the latter, which has a small embedded micro that deals with the USB stuff and handles clocking the PS/2 mouse. The former (the one I discussed elsewhere in this thread) is a passive pass-through device, and it requires a USB mouse or keyboard that's able to talk both USB and PS/2. -a |
