We still need to add hardware to convert the PS2 signal to USB signal.
the added processor (in the keyboard) will cost you $0.82 or something like that, is that not worth it to be able to make a solid, reliable product?. What may happen if you start banging the wrong signals (USB signals to a PS2 or vv) to either device? maybe sone version of a PS2 drives used by 'Acme' will blow up your detection.
