Only loosly related, but I've run into problems with FAE's basically "flipping me the bird." We do about 50% of our manufacturing in Taiwan so we often buy parts over there. We do our best to ensure the local reps get credit for these sales, but I have heard the phrase, "buy your parts overseas ... then get your support there too" more than once. These multinational manufacturers need to figure out a functional system where a product can be designed in one country and manufactured in another while still providing acceptable design support.
