#112308 - I don't think simply removing the datash Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I don't think simply removing the datasheets will deter people from using obsolete parts; anyway the datasheets marked "not to be used for new design" refer to parts still supported don't they.
Today, it's easy to watermark the pdf sheets by a huge OBSOLETE on each page. Such datasheets can be also made harder to access on the website, not via the "Products->Microcontrollers->etc. link. A specific "Support->Obsolete part datasheets" link. With a requirement to log in before downloading, and to press a "confirm" button on a bottom of a long long disclaimer. Etc.etc. OK, don't say it. I know. It is easier to throw it away and act as it never existed. Jan Waclawek |
