Even if this is a disassembly, reverse engineering it AND moving it to a different processor by re-writing isn't likely to be illegal is it ? Of course under the "DMCA" it might be.
The disassembled chip most likely read copyright (c) somewhere, that should say something. To the best of my understanding, "reverse engineering" is legal if you look at the "outer" workings and illegal if you look at the "inner" workings. Erik |
