What you are doing is a bit problematic and what Kai states relates to one way and what I suggest is another.

In my opinion Kais way probably is the best, but mine is simpler with what you have done already. had you asked before you built the thing I would have agreed with Kai.

If you can do what Kai suggest, di it. If you want to se if you can get by with my suggestion (remove a capacitor, change some code) try it.
