With 12MHz you can't get 9600 baud on 8051, on 8052 you can but with an almost unbearable error (2.7% or so).
With 11.0592MHz you can get 57600 Baud on 8051 and 115200 baud on 8052 with zero error; and of course any fraction of it, including 9600 baud.
