Shocking! Totally amateurish! The one switches between two crystals and the other uses a 11.0592MHz crytsal and a correctly adapted reload value of 46080 instead of 50000...

Daan, taking two different crystals demonstrates that you haven't learned anything from this disccusion here. I'm shocked and dissapointed! Bloody hell, is it so difficult to understand this ridiculous simple 8052 timer stuff that you need to take two different crystals to make your application to work??
