When you clear the ram you change the content of R0 which is the part of this RAM. To solve this problem, just put 0x7E into R0 in lieu of 0x7F. No, the last cleared byte is at address 1 so it does not change R0; unless the R0 is in other than bank 0 which it should not be the case after reset.
