#104954 - Intel gives up mcus gradually?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
On his pages, John Wharton mentions he implemented (one of?) the first microcontroller-based car engine controller based on 8048. This undoubtedly was a strong motivation for Intel to develop and manufacture microcontrollers (8051, among others).

Today I have received a product change notification, where Intel announces there will not produce automotive microcontrollers anymore. Seems to be one of the endmarks of the microcontrollers' story at Intel.
