#103431 - Universal Responding to: ???'s previous message |

BTW you mention 'universal' which '51 chips but SILabs have JTAG ? Hi Erik, my doubts arouse from the JTAG pins. Since the TCK, TMS, TO, and TI are common for all the chips(not only for '51 family, but also for ARMs, AVRs and even FPGAs), why not to use same hardware? May be with a standard 10 pin FRC connector? Also, by just swapping between different (as Jan has mentioned, 'proprietary') softwares to 'understand' what each family of devices says, why cant we have a standard JTAG cable? Is there any other technical stuff in terms of hardware pertaining to JTAG? Cheers, Vignesh PS: If I had not mentioned universal '51 chips, then I would have first got an 'off topic' rating!! |
