Hi Andy,
Yes, DCB stands for Data Control Block, not Device Control Block. It's origin goes back to IBM mainframes, and it's sort of a type of specialized data structure. And while I would have thought DCBs to be the mechanism for accessing parallel ports, I certainly can't say so with certainty. As I said in the earlier post, my head hurts for just remembering their name. No, when I found myself in need of such functionality, I opted for the SiLabs CP2102 instead.
