You can, usually get twice the scope for the same money if you buy used. Just make sure it is a reputable source.
There is a magazine called Nuts and Volts that (used to) carry a lot of ads for used equipment. Here we have a range of Tektronix scopes from 100 MHZ 2 channel storage up. You use any of the scopes and if it gets hairy, you go grab a better one. I'd say that for work with todays '51s you need at least 100 MHz, single sweep and storage. Erik |
