I've used the DS5000's and I'm used to the ease of programming them with Dallas' "kit.exe" utility.

Now I'm trying to work with a DS87C550, which I apparently have to configure as a bootloader to put my program code into NV SRAM.

Dallas offers some sketchy example code for the bootloader, but doesn't seem to have anything for (serial) interfacing with the PC, and actually burning the loader code in.
I'd greatly appreciate any help in this area.
