#161088 - "the bible" is gospel Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Simply quoting the NXP data sheets ( bible ) can be incorrect, depending on the part.
The new 80c51 cores of Si Lab, NXP and others have "typically" 1 and 2 clocks per instruction. "the bible" is NOT a "NXP data sheet" it is an Intel document edited and preserved by NXP "the bible" is gospel, just beware that your 'denomination' may deviate in certain aspects. If you, taking SILabs as an example, if you do not do your "bible reading" before reading the ~350 page data sheet, you will get so mired in what you do not need that you will miss what you need. NXP, typiclly, publish data sheets that only include deviations from "the bible", try to find an exhaustive description of e.g. TCON in a NXP data sheet. That your chip is not "true to the gospel" in all respects should not make you skip your "bible reading". That your chip may not be "true to the gospel" should make you read the data sheet as well. Again "the bible" is the foundation for all '51 varieties and thus important reading whatever chip you use. Erik |
