sure it is if you want to disable the watchdog and just use the 1232 as a reset supervisor. After I wrote the original post I realized that this could indeed happen, and that the best thing to do would be to strobe a watchdog with a signal that the application controls the best thing to do ??? the ONLY thing to do if you wnat watchdog functionality.
