Yes to BASIC and Java - as these were deigned to be interpreted, I think;

But I think 'C' and Pascal are more suited to be compiled?

Then there's the other "scripting" languages...

and there was that 8051 webserver thing, menioned recently, that had a P-Code interpreter - but the name escapes me at the moment...
