While the typical notion of ISP implies serial programming via a few pins, I would not say "no ISP possible". This depends on the exact definition of ISP... And, if you dare to build a parallel programmer into your application, it may become ISP-able...

Atmel actually thought about this when the FLASH-based mcus were fresh, and there is even an appnote decribing exactly this - http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resou...OC0287.PDF
