#121295 - lowest common denominator
Responding to: ???'s previous message
...as it's almost all designed so stupidly around that mouse. Every mouse-click leads to yet another dropdown or popup menu .... now takes 2 minutes and 6 levels of menuse with the mouse.

When an idi sorry, windows software designer create the layout and menu system for an app the first thought always is "this is called 'windows', how many 'windows' can I possibly involve in any operation". The second thought is "the user is so dumb that I must start with the lowest common denominator (e.g. 'file')" The third is because the user is so dumb I must, for each action ask "are you sure you want to do that".

I think that this is pure revenge: anyone that has failed, trying to program a micro as if it was a PC and been told by us "you need adapt" now make tools for those that have learned what working with a micro is. Clearly, those that make tools have no idea what programming and debugging a microprocessor project involves.

The calssic example is CEIBO. They have some WONDERFUL easy to use original windows software (still supported, but not promoted) and now some idi.. (there I go again) designer have convinced them to make a "true windows software". Fortunately I started using CEIBO while the 'classic' was the norm and - good for them - they still support it.

I have yet, where windows is involved to hear 'quick' but I know no case where I have not heard 'intuitive'.

For e.g. a tax program that I would use once a year, the 'intuitive' approach may be right, but for the daily workhorse, it is absolutotally wrong.
