... is it enough to claim "compatibility"?
Intel's '196 16-bitter family has the same port structure as '51, almost the same UART, similarly multiplexed data/address bus for external code and data access , and even an /EA pin; yet I'd never call it '51 compatible nor '51 inspired, so different is it's architecture. So, I dunno... Anybody else with a vote? JW |
