As a new member, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest you read the AT89C2051 data sheet about the input/output characteristics of the AT89C2051. Bert, why do you start this "As a new member", even old farts like me should read the datasheets. Also, I would replace "suggest you read" with "you have to read" the addition: There is a "bible" on the 8051 that you can read right here on this site that will teach you all the about the I/O characteristics of the standard 8051 architecture.
