As such, you can't connect your 24V signal DIRECT to the port pin - you'll need to have a resistor divider and maybe a zener diode for protection. PLCs usually have a optocoupler but depending on your specific application, the optocoupler may offer you benefits. If its for industrial control and the wiring might run for a large distance, then use an optocoupler. |
