#107445 - Salaam Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Was that your way of telling me that I was putting the double 'A' on the wrong side of the 'L'? My apologies. Look at it on the bright side. At least I'm sticking to English transliteration. I would get it even worse if I tried to spell it with actual Arabic letters. And that would be even worse yet since I'm guessing that you speak Farsi and I wouldn't even know where to begin. Oy! ;-) In persian when we prolong the second 'A' in salaam it means that we are glad to see or hear from you again after a long time Or some sort of being very happy to see you again. the 'salam' is written by Persian people in english (what we call Pinglish !) in both salam and salaam but persian people also spell it like 'saalam' in Pinglish. I don't think that Mehdi meant what you thought. Have fun Farshid |
