#107208 - Cheap oscillators? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

Anyhow, the reason i went that route (suggesting an oscillator) is that I guess it would be easier (cheaper?) to make an oscillator (relatively) temeperature stable, than just a crystal. Someone with the proper knowledge and expertise could match capacitor temeperature coefficient with the tempco of the crystal and that way get stability by such means. I'll take another look at oscillators, but I have my doubts. I'd have to switch it off when not in use because I can't afford the battery drain. Eh, maybe oscillators aren't such a good idea after all.... tom |
