With CML micro chips not much of interface hardware is needed. Quite easy to do for demo purpose. Here I would beg to differ, I am a user of CML chips including modem chips and the line interface for CML chips is a bit more complex in my opinion. It is not just like adding water. Also OP requires a bit high speed connection since the data size could be upto 1Mb as he mentioned while CML manufactures slow speed modems. Using a modem chip requires to write complete driver in 8051 ASM or C, error detection and correction algorithms, call answer procedures, DTMF dialing, call originate procedures and a lot of hardware and experience is required to implement DAA functions. The line interface circuits shown in CML datasheets are not complete DAA. So it is much much better to use a pre-approved, tested and certified embedded modem module. You just need to use AT commands and that's all. |
