In this country, it used to be the case that it didn't matter that your product complied with all the regulations, met all the specs, and was perfectly safe - it was still ILLEGAL to connect it to the Public telephone system until you had an official approval certificate from a certified test house. Important is to buy the isolation tranformer from an approved source. Or get one from a EPABX manufacturer. There's a lot more to it than just using the right components; eg, all the creepage & clearance requirements have to be observed... |
