which I provide empty sockets for particular I2C chips that are optionally used
the fact is that, today, decent sockets cost more than ICs. I do not provide "empty sockets for optionally used" I have a multicolumn parts list that list which devices to install for the various versions. Parts that "do not hurt any configuration" are always there, it is not worth the hassle to save a dollar and create a legion of mistakes of missed parts. Erik PS how do you socket SMT, DIP is getting rare. |
