You can use a LM317 as turned-on regulator, like it's shown in this example:
Values of resistors must be changed of course to provide 5V at output of LM317. You can also omit the 220nF capacitor from ADJ-pin to ground and the 10R resistor in series to collector of BC337. If the BC337 is turned-off, then 5V will develop at output. If the BC337 is turned-on, on the other hand, then at output 1.25V is generated. This should not be harmful. Kai |
