I hadn't really thought about a DC-DC isolated regulator on the input supply, but I suppose it wouldn't be a bad thing to do either. I've used one in the past that was all in one package, but it was only good for 50 or 100mA (ie, not enough for this application). I may need a circuit board on that side anyways, so it would be relatively easy to add the isolation circuits to it.
why isolatd? both the PS and the rest is in the same box. Linear Technology has some cute little "cubes" that are a complete switcher and handle, if I recall ~2A Erik |
