See? I do have something to apologize for. I never even thought about "laying up" being a colloquial expression for the fiberglass fabrication process. In any case, you're quite correct in that is precisely what I meant. I've used fiberglass for a number of purposes. I've repaired rusted out drains on old sinks, and I've even built the enclosure for my own vacuum table/box. It's messy, but otherwise easily fashioned into any arbitrary shape you have the form for. And a flat sheet is about as easy a "form" as you could choose. As for your "copper adhesive tape" experiment, it certainly won't be prohibitively expensive to try, but I suspect you're going to need a more application appropriate adhesive in order to withstand soldering temperatures. See what you can find in the way of "pre-preg" from some of your local suppliers. Of course, that will mean needing to apply heat and pressure to cure it properly. Good luck, Joe |
