#178450 - No offence! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Joe,
I did type a reply to you yesterday, but it doesn't seem to have appeared on the forum! I'll try again: When you say, "laying up your own fibreglass", I presume you mean doing it from scratch with the "raw" glass fibre matting and resin? Something like this: http://www.budget-diy.co.uk/48332/Loc...e-Kit.html I had thought about this - but I don't know how "involved" it might turn out to be in practice I guess it'd take a few goes to get it right... (I have used this sort of thing for car body repairs in the past) Anyhow, 2 applications are in my mind: 1. just as an insulating backing for "uncased" PCBs (eg, DevKits) - to prevent any little "accidents" if they should get put down onto something conductive... 2. I want to do some experiments with adhesive copper tape that would also require soldering to the tape - so thermoplastics would be no good. Would the "DIY" resin be OK for this? |
