#177668 - Is it either Or? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Yes Tools save time and money. But spending money may not save any time. Would you spend 500 to a 1000 USD for a compiler for a 10 or 20 line C program? Maybe a free ASM is better. Noe it is different but I have project I did not spend for emulator PODs I would only use once.
Having an ICE (or ICD) can save a lot of debugging time in may cases. But LEDs, printf(), DMMs, and scopes have their place. I find that after the project is up and running some times they give more info the a break point. I have an X86 project the I never use the Ice because it takes so long to get it set up and running. Then there is always the "I choose poorly" I should have spent the money and I would have been done in a fraction of the time. |
