Company A who do write well-working, well-documented and well-structured example code for product A will probably manage to move the code and make it well-working, well-documented and well-structured on product B too.

Company A who make a mess of things for product A will most probably make a mess squared when their incompetent manager makes the assumption that they can just lift the examples from product A to product B and ship.

In the end, you invest in quality and customer satisfaction and in long-term economic gains.
