Communication is always a problem.

I spent a couple of weeks desperately creating a demo system. The actual time that was allocated for the task was three days - not the three weeks I needed.

In the end, the customer got one description of what should be demonstrated, and I got a completely different task.

The actual demonstration system could do much, much more than the customer needed to see - but alas not exactly the think the customer wanted to see. All because of one or two oops in the chain of command.
